Conservative Councillor Kaushik Chakraborty reports good news about the Rose Cottage Site and the Trafford Local Plan:
Following the Trafford Local Plan briefing held this week, We’re pleased to confirm that Rose Cottage has been removed as a proposed permanent Gypsy and Traveller site. This decision reflects the significant level of engagement from across our community over the last year. Many residents took the time to attend public meetings, submit feedback, and contribute to the local discussion.
Your involvement has played an important role in ensuring that community views were clearly represented throughout the process. We would also like to acknowledge the contributions of local community groups and volunteers who helped coordinate engagement and share information.
Throughout the process, we have worked closely with fellow councillors from Bowdon and Trafford Council officers to review the available evidence and ensure that local perspectives were carefully considered as part of the plan’s development. Conservative councillors consistently raised residents’ concerns and supported the case for removing this site.
What happens next? Further announcements regarding the Local Plan are shortly. We will continue to keep residents updated as more information becomes available. We would like to thank everyone who took part in this process. We appreciate the time and effort residents have given. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
