The Civic Society will be laying Remembrance Day wreaths at
Dunham Memorial and at Regent Road.
We shall take the opportunity to remember our late President
William Speakman VC.
We understand there will be no official service at Dunham.

Trafford B.C. have made the following official announcement regarding Remembrance Sunday.

This year there will be a change to the normal Remembrance Sunday arrangements in Trafford, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

We would usually see a number of services take place across the borough on the Sunday closest to Armistice Day (11 November). Instead, this year, the plan is to hold one service which represents the whole of Trafford, on Sunday 8 November.

In order to comply with the current Government restrictions around gatherings, the service will be by invitation only and unfortunately it will not be open to members of the public to attend. The number of guests, including representatives from the various elements of the armed forces, the Council and other key community figures, will also be limited as a result.

We realise that this is an important occasion across our communities and that many people will be disappointed that they will not be able to attend one of the usual events in order to show their respect for those who gave their lives in the service of this country. We are however planning for the ceremony to be filmed and shared, so that people are still able to mark the occasion.
