Dear Station Friends,
As I`m now in my first week of being the new Mid Cheshire Community Rail Officer after my hand over from Steve Forde, I thought it was high time I introduced myself properly. There`s been a lot to take in during the last few weeks and I`m very grateful to Steve for his time and patience in showing me the ropes whilst simultaneously carrying out the day-to-day rail officer work. I`m sure you`re all going to miss him but hopefully he`ll keep in touch from time to time. Best of luck Steve and enjoy travelling the world!!
So, a bit about myself, I was born and brought up in Mid Cheshire and have lived in Cuddington for nearly ten years although I`m about to decamp to Northwich (no offence Cuddington, you`re still dear to my heart)!
I have 2 children, a girl and boy of 9 and 5 respectively, who keep me on my toes and are the reason you might get emails from me at unsociable times of the day- but don`t feel the need to reply till you feel like it!
Like your selves I`ve been a volunteer for many years and have worked on conservation projects throughout Cheshire but particularly in the Northwich area-this includes Vale Royal Conservation Volunteers, Dane Valley Community Orchard, Grozone Community Garden and Citizens Advice in Winsford. I`m also a published writer, enjoy photography and country walks with my bouncy Yorkshire terrier x Pomeranian, Dasher.
I know first-hand what an enjoyable and rewarding experience volunteering can be and I want you to feel you can approach me about anything- whether that be project ideas, queries or problems-I`m always happy to help!
Also, please send me your news and pictures from your stations so that we can share your work and successes with others through our social media channels and with the other Station Friend groups.
This year  Mid Community Community Sheds are working on replacing the old station planters, starting with Delamere and Mouldsworth. If you have any which look and feel rotten please drop me a line and I`ll add them to the list.
I may not have everyone’s email address yet so please share this with the other volunteers in your group and encourage them to get in touch with me so I can add them to my mailing list.
I`d like to say a big well done for all the coronation decorations going up along the line, the stations are all looking fabulous!  However you choose to celebrate over the bank holiday have a wonderful time and I look forward to meeting you all soon.
Warmest wishes from your new Community Rail Officer,
Sarah Muir
